The Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW) seeks a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Director will work closely with the Head of School and the Administration team to lead efforts that promote and support an inclusive community environment for all school constituents, most importantly the students. As a community of learners and educators who value and are committed to diversity and inclusion, FXW celebrates and welcomes families, faculty and staff of all faith, family structures, and racial, ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. This is a 12-month administrative position that reports directly to the Head of School.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Head of School and the Administration to provide vision, leadership, strategic planning and calendaring for diversity and inclusion initiatives that align with the school’s mission and values
  • Develops and implements a long-range diversity plan
  • Plans, develops and implements diversity and inclusion-focused PK-8 developmentally appropriate education programs and events for faculty, staff, students and families
  • Together with the campus principals and faculty, evaluates, advises on, and supports the development of inclusive and multicultural curriculum and pedagogy across the divisions
  • Develops strong working relationships with students, families, faculty and staff
  • Collaborates with academic leadership and faculty on student support
  • Works with the Admissions team to recruit, welcome and retain families of diverse backgrounds
  • Partners with Human Resources in its efforts to attract, recruit and retain a diverse faculty and staff
  • Develops partnerships between FXW and local community groups, schools, and other organizations to build relationships and promote FXW

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
  • Experience designing and administering community-building, multicultural, diversity and inclusion programs and curricula in schools across various grade levels
  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality and composure in all situations involving students, families and colleagues
  • Proven record of success in working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, parents and community leaders
  • Demonstrates commitment to respect a broad range of views and to building mutual understanding, trust, and shared commitment over time
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current research, trends and practice in community, diversity, inclusion, and multicultural affairs
