Primary Function
The Assistant Principal for Learning and Logistics supports Campus Principal in providing a smooth functioning of the Old St. Patricks (OSP) campus, helping to assure a safe environment, overseeing daily schedules, designing and implementing responsive frameworks to support student social-emotional development, and maintaining collaborative relationships with school community and faculty.
The key roles and responsibilities include:
STUDENTS and FAMILIES:
· Ensures an emotionally and physically safe environment for students
· Establishes and oversees systems for classroom community building, classroom management, proactive communication to families
· Oversees student behavior and accountability through restorative justice and the implementation of student behavioral supports if needed
· Maintains partnership between families, teachers and FXW School in regards student discipline and follow-through guided by policy in FXW Family Handbook
· Reviews Standards Based Reports
· Work in collaboration with Student Success Team in support of ensuring continuity for students with learning and student support needs.
· Communicates promptly with families.
FACULTY:
· Serves as a coach to faculty members in manners of classroom management, implementing school procedures, and student disciplinary responses
CAMPUS WIDE:
· Coordinates daily substitute planning
· Creates and oversees the development of the OSP Building schedules
· Works with teachers to establish and uphold curriculum, school mission statement
· Shares responsibility with Campus Principal for the evaluation and professional development of faculty, assess faculty performance, reviews with faculty
· Assists Campus Principal to recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new teachers
· Assists with ISACAS accreditation process
· Collaborates with the Director of DEI to incorporate D.E.I. curriculum across all grade-levels.
· Assists Campus Principal with purchase order process
· Supports Campus Principal and Admissions Team in the Admissions Process
Key Relationships
The Assistant Principal for Learning and Logistics reports to the Campus Principal. Other key relationships he/she/they is/are responsible in cultivating are with other members of the leadership team, teachers, and school-wide departments, such as Admissions, Advancement, HR, and Technology.
The Assistant Principal supervises faculty members as designated by Campus Principal.
Qualifications and Requirements
A candidate should hold:
A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Education
A Masters Degree in Educational Leadership is preferred
A valid, issued State of Illinois teaching certificate Type 03, 04, 09, 75
Three years of successful early childhood teaching experience
Leadership experience preferred
A candidate will need upon hiring:
Comply with Archdiocese of Chicago required Protecting Gods Children Requirements (Background
Screening, Fingerprinting, VIRTUS Training, CANTS, Code of Conduct, Mandated Reporter Training)
A candidate must demonstrate:
The ability to establish collaborative relationships with teaching staff through a supportive supervision and evaluation model.
Familiarity with ISACS criteria and standards of excellence
