The Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW) provides an academically excellent, values-oriented education to students of all ethnic, religious, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our largest fundraising event – our annual Gala – supports the school’s mission and helps fund our scholarship initiative. The event includes both an impressive live auction and one of the largest silent auctions in the city.
We held 2023 Gala, A Sky Full of Stars, at the Marriott Marquis Chicago on Feb. 25. It was a wonderful event in which we set a record for tickets sold and the nearly $900,000 raised by our community is also the most in our School’s history. Live and Silent Auction
The silent and live auction directly supports FXW’s scholarship initiative which allows accessibility and affordability for nearly one third of our students to attend FXW.
An in-kind donation to our Gala provides an excellent opportunity to advertise your organization to a broad Chicago audience. Auction donations will appear in our online bidding platform that all guests and community members use to participate in the silent auction.
We will soon be seeking volunteers for 2024 Gala! The committees include; Auction, Young Artist, and Day Of. Committees are filled by a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Auction: Typically two to three parents spearhead this committee. This committee typically begins working on the auction in October. There is a “training” meeting to review the volunteer tool kit and how to solicit for auction items.
- Young Artist: These co-chairs work in partnership with the art teachers to organize an art project for each grade-level. A meeting will be necessary in early October and all projects should be completed by January. These items are part of the online silent auction.
- Day Of: There are typically two chairs that work in partnership to assist with seating arrangements, event check-in and check-out, and auction set-up. This committee begins end of January or early February.
