Dive deep under the sea! Set sail on a Pirate ship!  Tell camp fire stories on a camping adventure! And much much more!  This class will incorporate acting exercises and build a sense of play and collaboration.  The students will share a final performance for parents and friends on the last day of class.

OSP Spring 2016 Robotics 1 and Robotics Workshop

FXW is offering an introductory Robotics and continuing Robotics course this Spring.  Using the LEGO® WeDo Robotics program, students will learn to build and program their own robots.  Developed as an introduction to robotics, the LEGO® WeDo robotics system engages students in technology experiments that focus on science, mathematics, social studies and language concepts.

Robotics 1: Using icon-based programming software, students write and download programs to LEGO® robots allowing them to manipulate the movements of their models.  Students will then work together to create a movie starring their robots!

Robotics Workshop: We will continue to build upon the skills developed in the first course. This will be a more inquiry based class featuring new robots, Dash and Dot (see image below), more complex programming challenges, and a chance for the students to use problem solving skills to design their own robots!

These classes are for 2nd and 3rd grade students. Each program will consist of a 12 week session.  Classes for Robotics 1 (2nd and 3rd graders) will be held on Mondays, while Robotics Workshop (2nd and 3rd graders who have taken Robotics 1) will take place on Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:30 pm.   The cost for this program is $300.
