For the safety of our students,

The Frances Xavier Warde School is a closed campus. A closed campus means that a student not may leave school on his/her own during school hours. If a student must leave campus for any reason between 8:10 AM – 3:15 PM, the student must be dismissed to parent or guardian.

Parents of students in grades 4th – 8th have the option of granting their son/daughter “sign-out” privileges to leave campus on his/her own. Rules for “sign out” privileges include:

4th – 8th grade parents must indicate in writing that their student has permission to leave on his/her own without a parent present at the conclusion of their school day. This is to be indicated on the Student Release Form.

“Sign Out” privileges are only in effect when a student’s last school activity is completed for that day.

For example, if a student has sign-out privileges and is also enrolled in a sport that ends at 6:00pm, that student may not to leave campus in between 3:15 PM and the start of his/her evening school event.

Students are expected to stay in school until their last activity has ended.

This policy is in effect for all athletic, musical, and extracurricular activities.

If a student must leave campus after the end of the regular school day and before the start of their evening activity, the student must be dismissed to a parent or guardian. Written permission will not suffice for a student to leave on his/her own in this circumstance.

Please do not double park outside of the school at the 4:45 dismissal time to pick up your student. We understand that this can be a very busy time, so plan appropriately.
