Children at the Crossroads Foundation

Children at the Crossroads Foundation was created in 1990 on the belief that economic circumstances should not preclude an eager and capable child from receiving a quality education. The Foundation supports the needs of financially disadvantaged children and provides them with a foundation for life that they might not otherwise be able to obtain.

Funds are raised through several  events,  including our Golf Outing held in September,  the Scholarship Dinner in May and one of our newest events, The Ultimate Playdate for preschool and kindergarten families in the spring.  We also rely on the generosity of our Board of Directors and the parishioners of Old Saint Patrick’s Church and Holy Name Cathedral.  Foundation support plays a role in funding this important scholarship effort and we have  been blessed by support from several notable foundations, including , the Helen Brach  and MacArthur Foundations. We are honored to work with family foundations and benefit from  referrals from our FXW families.

To date, Children at the Crossroads Foundation has provided more than ten million in scholarships. Staying true to our mission, 30 percent of the students who attend The Frances Xavier Warde School receive either full or partial financial assistance. Though meeting the scholarship needs of our growing school is more challenging today than it was 20 years ago, Children at the Crossroads Foundation has not wavered on its commitment to provide opportunity, support and hope to the more than 200 children who attend FXW on scholarship each year.
