Tuesday November 11th is our First Parent Tech & Media Night
Are you concerned about how much time your children spend caught up in today’s media and technology? Would you like to hear the thoughts and views of students on the importance of media/technology in their daily lives? Please plan to join us for our first parent technology night on Tuesday, November 11th from 6:30-7:30pm at the HNC campus. Our speaker will be Tamara Kaldor, Program Manager for Common Sense Media here in Chicago and we will have a panel of teens discussing their media habits. This is the first of a series of parent nights for the 2014-2015 school year designed to provide parents with conversation time for social issues that have sprung up with increased student technology use–cyberbullying, student privacy, etc. Detailed information can be found on the Academic Technology blog at http://www.fxw.org/academic-technology/ or contact our Academic Technology Coordinator, Sarah Vaughn at email@example.com. We hope you’ll join us!
*Note, this is a parent only event.
iOS 8.1 has been released. Please have your 5-8th grade student(s) do this software update at home this week. These updates help keep student iPads and their apps running well.
*We’ve had one report of an iPad experiencing issues after doing this update–please remind students they need to be saving work into Google Drive all of the time!
