This spring the 5th grade Media Literacy students and the 2nd grade students in Ms. Cerami and Ms. Gilmartin’s class learned some basic computer science concepts from a curriculum developed by Code.org. Our students did a great job with it! We completed many activities, and the 5th grade enjoyed a visit from our IT department’s David Mitchell who shared games he’s developed for Android devices. We’d like to share some resources for all FXW students that would like to try their hand at learning some computational thinking and coding skills over the summer. Following this link will take you to a site with many links to computer science tutorials, iPad apps, books and games, and web sites. There are resources here for most all grade levels and abilities. Check them out with your students and have a wonderful summer!
